Newcastle Emlyn 19 Trebanos 26

Trebanos started their second season in the National Championship with a bang, scoring three tries in the opening quarter of an hour of their match at Newcastle Emlyn, before adding a fourth to lead 26-0 at half time. The home side then staged a stirring fightback, scoring immediately after half time and added two late tries to snatch a losing bonus point with the last kick of the match.

With several of last year's squad having come of age and moved on to senior rugby, Trebanos Youth took time to become accustomed to playing together in their first league game of the season. However, they rallied well to run Upper Swansea Valley (Abercrave and Ystrad) close, securing a losing bonus point in the process. An encouraging start for a new-look team; well done boys.

Trebanos RFC, 2018 Chunky 7s Winners

Trebanos enjoyed success at this year's Chunky 7s at a sun drenched Ystalyfera RFC, playing some excellent rugby to retain the title they won last year. Congratulations to the playing squad, particularly Rhod Williams who was deservedly chosen as player of the tournament, and a big thank you to physio Nia Morgans for her great work on the day. Many thanks to the organisers at Ystalyfera RFC for once again staging a great tournament and for their hard work in raising monies for local charities.
