Trebanos 24 Pontypool 27
Skewen 34 Trebanos 20

Trebanos and Skewen was a typical game of two halves. Unfortunately, I'm talking about the weather and not the rugby score. Skewen led at half time by 24-3, Trebanos showed their fighting spirit in the second half and tried to mount a comeback but Skewen sealed the win with the game ending 34-20. Match report to follow.

Trebanos were warmly welcomed by Treorchy to a sun-drenched Oval, which played host to two evenly matched sides. The game was nip and tuck all the way through, with the lead exchanging hands several times and despite two tries from full-back Llyr Davies and another from tight-head prop Alun Dew, Trebanos trailed deep into second half injury time. However, a fine break by centre Lloyd Phillips set up a last gasp try for outside half Steff Garland as Trebanos snatched victory away from the Zebras. We thank Treorchy for their warm hospitality and wish them every success for the coming season.
